Dr. Sasan Garakani is a distinguished, board-certified periodontist dedicated to providing world-class care to the communities of the Big Island. His practice is built on a foundation of surgical precision, advanced technology, and a deep commitment to patient comfort and well-being.
Dr. Garakani earned his specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at Harvard University, completing a rigorous three-year residency that placed him at the forefront of advanced surgical techniques and implant therapy. Before that, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from UCLA, one of the nation’s leading dental schools.
To achieve the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Garakani successfully passed a comprehensive and demanding examination covering all aspects of his specialty. This board certification represents the pinnacle of professional achievement and a lifelong commitment to the highest standards of patient care.
At the core of his philosophy is collaboration and trust. Dr. Garakani believes the best outcomes are achieved when patients are informed and involved in their treatment. He takes time to listen, explains options clearly, and uses state-of-the-art 3D imaging to design treatment plans precisely tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
